It was suppose to be yet another Thursday morning for me if not for the early morning wakeup call from across the shores by my sister to convey a news which both of us and the entire world knew that its not something which we can accept and digest – “Steve Jobs is no more”. Ironically both of us just like millions around the world had to read, listen, convey this news to others using devices which wouldn’t have been possible of not for this person pictured above.
Being a person who is extreamly fascinated about technology, gadgets and especially the “i” world related gadgets, its really hard for me to accept the words that one of worlds greatest technology visionary and a inspiration many individuals is no more. It is really impossible to anyone to replace Steve and also prove the capabilities to conquer the world by technological innovations. Steve was 56 when he passed away and thats too young an age for a person of such a charisma and enthusiasm to leave the world with a reason related to health.
Right from Apple1 till iPad2 Steve had been a master mind behind gadgets and devices which rule the world now and nothing and no combined forces in the market can come close let alone overtake the power of the iWorld. Everything from acquisition of PIXAR to NeXT, Steve showed the world how a business has to be envisioned and run.
Milestone moments in history like
1998 – first iMac
2000 – OSX
2007 – iPhone
2010 – iPad
were all possible and plausible only thanks to Steve. And its because of Steve now that Apple is a company who’s revenue surpasses the money held by US govt.
I have been reading zillions of obituary messages from around the globe from everyone in the field of politics, science, technology, photography and media .. the amount of messages that have been pouring down in social media is just an example how each and everyone of us felt Steve was a part of our day to day life.
Just a couple of months back i had posted the below image in social media when my sister got me an iPad and i was like am living in an iWorld with addition of newer and newer “i” devices for the fascination and sheer appreciation of the convergence of art and technology.
I was in UK when i first heard this speech by Steve Jobs @ Stanford University – i was literally moved and touched by every single word that came from his mouth. From then till now he has been a huge source of inspiration to me and many others across the globe. At that moment i didnt have even a single Apple device with me and it all started with an iPod which changed the way i look at technology and craftmanship in consumer electronics. Since then i have never gone back from buying anything other than Apple devices and i should say am not disappointed by it.
Steve Jobs @ Stanford University
More than a technology visionary and ideal entrepreneur – Steve and his words were the biggest source of inspiration to the world. The way he battled his life despite of his severe health conditions which kept deteriorating with time. Some of my personal favorite quotes from Steve are listed below …
“Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith” -Steve Jobs
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life… have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” ??-Steve Jobs
“Death is very likely the single best invention of life. It’s life’s change agent; it clears out the old to make way for the new.” – Steve Jobs
and finally
“Stay hungry. Stay foolish.” which in my words is the single best thing he could ever say and it suits perfectly well for all the people who are in creative field.
Chase Jarvis had once quoted in his keynote – “Create – Share – Sustain” and both Steve Jobs and Apple just did that from even before that time, they created something which the world would have never seen, shared it with the world to enjoy and sustained it with newer and newer innovations everytime.
This image says it all for Steve Jobs for what his life was.
For all that many know “i” didnt mean EGO but it symbolized – iNVENTION – iNNOVATION & iNSPIRATION.
Dear Steve – May your soul rest in peace … we will miss you.
