One of the many resolutions

Alright, so 2012 is already here and the first day of the year is almost coming to an end in our part of the world. I must say that am really happy the way 2012 has started especially the first day. Did something which apparently was one of the ongoing resolutions for the year – “spending time with the needy”.  Spent the first day with some visually disabled people at a National Level Chess Competition organized by Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled. Must admit at once when i was co-ordinating with the trust people with regard to arranging for the logistics i was wondering how could a blind person play chess. But after spending some time seeing how the participants plan, communicate, document moves ( using audio recorders ) and go on to play with so much of spirit which is un-matchable, I must say these people rock. At the end of the day am really glad that i started 2012 with a smile on my face and also equally better one in the faces of the people with whom i spent the day. Will pray that these people get the best of health and opportunity to represent our nation in such sports for disabled.

Finally ending this post with a quote which was shared by one my photog friends which has stuck to me for long and which i felt is apt here (IMO) –  “Search for darkness and you will see light”
